The point of tagging your books at Idtag.info is obvious. A) if your friend borrows your book and forgets to give it back, and worse forgets whose book it is, they can just access the Idtag to see whose book it is and B) the Idtag is transferable if the owner wants to sell the book used on Amazon or some other used-book store.
Sure who wants to go to the trouble of going to a web site and listing their book on a database service and then go and label their book. But think of all the books you have lost because of mistaken-permanent-lending before. It doesn't take long. You can also order or print off a whole sheet of Idtags and then just label your goods as you need. So why not take that extra bit of time now and register the books you care about!!!
